Can you make a Slave Drive bootable?
Can you make a Slave Drive bootable? I want to install a slave drive with a different O.S. on my computer. I now you can have two OS on the same hard Drive with different Partitions but I don't now if you can have two different hard Drives with one different O.S. on each drive.
If so how can I do that.
This question was answered on November 29, 2004. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.I think that depends on your BIOS If it lists IDE0 to IDE3 etc then you are in.
You are going to need a bootloader to handle the 2 systems or do it the long way by switching with the BIOS.
MS-DOS or Win9x will only boot from the primary disk OTOH, 2K/XP or Linux will boot from most any disk You'll still have to have a boot manager on the primary boot partition to select the O/S you're booting...
