I removed Internet Security 2004 completely. Then I tried to install Internet Security--which sort of worked. I ran the live update and then tried to configure it.
It told me I didn't have the necessary rights. I haven't even enabled user accounts.
Therefore, I uninstalled Internet Security 2005, delete temporary and cleaned the Registry. In hopes to reinstall
After I load the CD and click setup I get the first slapsh screen to install the product and then NOTHING happens

Unfortunately, I'm afraid these newer versions 2004-5 are designed for more 2K/XP/2K3....IMO, dump it and use a nice small resource like Free versions of AVG, eTrust, BitDefender, etc Not these Bloatware products.
I recall 2004 having a "very" detailed specific way to uninstall it - perhaps 2005 does too - but I really think you can obtain personal security better using above stated AV, plus SpyBot, AdAware, and HijackThis - along with a Router (Hardware Firewall) and a nice small software firewall (free ver.) like Kerio, or Sygate
Also by disabling many IE /OE flaws - info available if necessary...plus use Mozilla/Firefox
