How can I get into Windows if I forgot my password?

My friend forgot his password to sign into windows since he password protected it. How can you get that password or how can you find a way in to change the password to something so you can log on?

While you are restarting your computer press the F8 key to get the "Boot Mode" menu Then choose "Safe Mode" Once you get to the Log in screen log in as administrator with no password This will allow you to reset forgotten local admin/users passwords.
