How to fix my broadband connection?


I just got broadband with NTL and everytime i go to install it, it says cannot connect to default gateway. i phoned them up and they said there was a firewall or something blocking it. but i restored windows so i wiped everything off my computer and tried again and it said the same thing. and i dont see how there can be a firewall on my computer without me knowing please help as i am going out of my mind.

So if not already done, try a complete power down and re-boot, see if that helps I have a cable modem (no set top box) and all the lights indicated that I had a connection but the harsh reality was, that until I re-booted, I did not!
