I always keep my computer powered up and it has worked fine for about 3 years. Recently, I've noticed that the monitor (1 yr old Viewsonic w/bright mode) locks up when it sits overnight unused. After it locks up I reboot and everthing works fine, until it sits unused. Then the same thing happens again. (I'm running Windows 2000)

I tried changing the screen saver this morning, thinking that could have something to do with it. Don't know the result of that yet.

Based on what I've read on your website, it could be the monitor or possibly the video card. Any other suggestions on what to look at? Should I reinstall the video card or monitor drivers?

Thanks.

Check to see if your Bios power management is on If it is set to shut down the monitor and/or harddrive after a certain amount of time and Windows is also set to do the same thing there maybe a conflict there I had the same problem I disabled the Bios power management and then set up Windows power management.
