for some reason right on startup a system that I'm dealing with will lock up. the screen saver will come on after a while, but the mouse won't move, and there is no input from the keyboard. reseated memory and IDE cables the other day and the system worked just fine, then three days later when it's started up, the same thing happens. already ran diagnostics on the hard drive, memory, and other hardware. all diagnostics passed. any input on this issue would be greatly appreciated. My system is windows 2000. I am able to log in safe mode.
