98SE or XP Pro

SO what do you think is better?

Every time i talk to some one and say "Yer, I use 98SE" some of them go "OOOW" and the others go "good idea. It's safe!"

so what do you teh people think?

98SE or XP (PRO)?

I've been using 98se since it came out, so I am more used to the weaknesses and have adjusted to them I also have XP Home on 2 laptops They've been good, but I feel I have less control of them My mother uses one of them without much hassel and she's 91 years young

I wouldn't upgrade my old P2 Dell as I don't think XP would be as responsive, and on a new machine, there's no going back to 98 as they are engineered to be complimentry to the more complex XP.

There is new software that runs on XP and not 98 and vice versa with some old software, so you have to use to suite your needs.

98se works well for me online and I'll stick with it untill I need a brand new machine that comes with XP or what ever follows it.
