No video input?

No computer image on the TV, screen is snowy, or has TV program on it Tighten connection between the computer's video out to the VGA input at the rear of the i-TView

Check the RCA or S-Video cable to the VCR or TV

Make sure the TV and/or the VCR is powered on

Make sure the green LED on the i-TView unit is on

Check the connections from the power supply

Make sure your TV is set to auxiliary video in (consult your TV manual)

Check that the RCA or S-Video cable is connected to the Video IN or AUX IN port (TV or VCR)

Everything is connected properly, but my TV only shows snow/static The video source on your TV needs to be switched to "line input", "aux", "AV", or "Video"; not on any channel number, (may require the TV's original remote control, consult your TV manual)

If you are connecting directly to your VCR instead of your TV, switch the VCR to "line input", "aux", "AV", or "Video"; not on any channel number, (may require the VCR's original remote control, consult your VCR manual)

My TV doesn't have an RCA or S-Video input connection, it only has a coax cable input, like for my cable box or antenna You need to connect the RCA/Composite video input cable from the i-TView DV to a RF Modulator (Radio Shack model #15-1244) or a VCR

The green LED on the i-TView DV unit does not light Check power connections (outlet and i-TView DV)

Check for 5V DC on power supply/transformer

Software MUST be loaded first

If the i-TView DV is not communicating with the software control panel, the controls will be grayed out

I have the image on the TV, but it is not in color Reverse the RCA or S-Video cable

Check for bent or broken pins

Adjust the Color control in the i-TView DV control panel (see page 29 in manual)

Adjust the Brightness, Contrast, and Sharpness controls (see page 29 in manual)

I see the image on the TV but it is blurry and out of focus How can I fix this? Under the "Appearance" Control Panel, select the Fonts tab Set Large System Font to Chicago Try Chicago 18 or Verdana 18 for Views Font Find your favorite!

The edges are overflowing on my TV This is called "Overscan"

Turn OFF 2x Zoom in i-TView DV control panel

Use the horizontal and vertical controls to adjust positioning (see page 26 in manual)

Adjust the TV Size control to the appropriate setting in the i-TView DV control panel (see page 26 in manual)

The image fails to fill the screen This is called "Underscan"

Can I use my VCR to connect the i-TView DV to my TV? Yes Both TV and VCR must be set to Channel 3 The RCA cable connects from the i-TView DV's composite video output to the VCR's Video input A coaxial cable will connect the VCR to the TV

Can I watch TV on my computer monitor? No A scan converter can only send NTSC/PAL signals to the TV It cannot send television signals back into the computer

I can't hear the audio on my TV The i-TView DV does nothing to control, create, or connect audio If your TV or VCR has audio inputs, you connect those to the i-Mac's audio out, with an appropriate cable, (not included) A stereo mini-jack to dual RCA cable may be purchased from Radio Shack RS p/n 42-2481 or 42-2475
