My monitor only displays the start up screen for windows but when it switches from the "Windows XP" screen with the scrolling bars, to the "loading windows" screen it goes blank. What is wrong?

If this is your first boot, wait a bit of longer because it could be the

system is trying to recognize and configure your hardware.

The login screen may or may not appear - depending on how the account user

is being setup up.

You could do that later.

If you are sure that you are already in and it's the monitor problem - try

to use F8 during initial boot and enter into Safe Mode In safe mode, you

VGA and Monitor driver will not be loaded, and you can see if it's a problem

of conflict.
