I recently submitted a question on how to delete "favorites" but, unfortunately, the answer given still did not work.

I have several websites that continuously recur whenever I start my computer. I have deleted them under Internet Explorer going under organize and favorites and deleting the websites. I empty the recycle bin but they still recur.

I followed the student's advice and went under control panel, internet options and deleted cookies and the folders- still to no avail. The sites are still under favorites on the desktop.

With all that has been done how can these websites still keep coming back? Is this a computer/virus problem? What else can be done to eliminate them?

Thank you very much for your assistance and any information.

Remove a Web Page from the Favorites List

You may find that the link to a favorite Web page is broken and no longer takes you there Or perhaps you just want to clean up your Favorites list Whatever the reason, it's easy to remove a Web page from your Favorites list.

1 On the Favorites menu, right-click the link to the page that you want to remove from the list

2 On the menu that opens, click Delete

Remove a Web Page from a Folder in the Favorites List

1 On the Favorites menu, point to the folder where the Web page you want to remove is stored If you have folders within folders, you may have to point to more than one folder

2 Right-click the link to the page that you want to remove from the list

3 On the menu that opens, click Delete

Be careful! When you delete a folder, Internet Explorer removes the folder and the links to all the Web pages stored in that folder.
