I bought this MP3 player that works just fine with XP. But with 98SE I got some problems. I installed the driver that came with it, and when i plug the player in the USB socket, I see the mouse pointer change for a moment, so the computer notices that a new device is connected. But it doesn't show up as a new temporary drive. Any ideas?

Plug the drive into your USB port and then look in My Computer, it should show there as a drive, you can select it there and see what you have placed on it, just like a floppy or CD,but will not be displayed when not plugged in.

or

Check Device Manager to see if there's any unknown hardware - it may just need the driver(s) re-installing
