There is a password I need to find. It goes to an account that is set up on my computer through an outside source (ex. hotmail, etc.). The password is not saved through the auto save. Is there somewhere on the computer i can go to retrieve it, even if it is encrypted? I have Cain but can't figure out how to make it find it. Please help. It is very important i retrieve this account.

Go to the MSN Hotmail Sign-In Page at

2 Click "Forgot Your Password?"

3 In the "Sign-In Name" field, type your Sign-In Name

Your Sign-In Name does NOT include ""

4 Select your Country and enter your Zip Code

5 Click "Continue"

You are taken to the (step 2 of 2) of the Reset Your Password page

The Secret Question that you created when you created your account or

changed your password is displayed

6 In the "Secret Answer" field, type the answer to your Secret Question

7 Type your new password in the "Choose a New Password" field

8 Re-enter your new password in the "Re-enter New Password" field

9 Click "Continue"

If you answered the question incorrectly, you are asked to send a

blank e-mail message to [email protected]

If you answered the question correctly, you are asked to create

a new password Type a new password, re-confirm it, and click "OK."


For security reasons, you should now clear your browser's cache.

For more information about clearing your browser's cache, send a

blank e-mail message to [email protected]



If you cannot use the automatic password retrieval system, please send MSN Hotmail the following information about your account We must receive this information for verification purposes Hotmail will not under any circumstances reset a password without this information, correctly presented.

1 Sign-In Name

2 Name

3 Zip Code

4 State

5 Country

6 Telephone Number

7 Year of birth

8 The Addresses Saved in Your Address Book

9 Names of Folders in Your Account

10 Approximate Date of Last Successful Sign-In

11 Approximate Date of Registering Your Account

12 Any Hotmail Premium Services You Use

For security reasons, and to help you regain access to your account as quickly as possible, all requests for help regarding passwords MUST be sent ONLY to the following address:

[email protected]

As long as you provide all of the information requested and the information is correct, Hotmail will reset your password and e-mail it to the address you sent your request from When you can access

your account again, change your password.
