Hi everyone,

Well, I have been researching on the subject Pentium 4 vs. Pentium M for a while now. However, I have a very specific question:

In terms of performance, which one is better:

2.1 GHz Intel Pentium M (765) Processor (2 MB Cache)

OR

3.4 Ghz Extreme Edition Intel Pentium 4 HT (PLGA775) Processor w/ 2MB cache

That is my main concern: PERFORMANCE.

However, would the HEAT from the Pentium 4 be very very noticeable? I have heard that Pentium 4 delivers more heat and everything, but would this be really noticeable? How bad does it get?

Thank you very much...

Since your main concern is PERFORMANCE, the 3.4 Ghz Extreme Edition Intel Pentium 4 HT (PLGA775) Processor w/ 2MB cache is the way I'd go, especially if you are into heavy multitasking.

Regarding your heat concerns, with the lack of power-saving features, it is not unexpected that the P4 dissipates more heat However it is impossible to fry the CPU due to its built in thermal protection so have no fears.
