Can anyone help me with this exception error. I've looked everywhere for it and found no mention of it anywhere.

I'm running windows 98se and on startup i get

Fatal exception 00 has occurred at 0028:CO23DDE3 in VXD VDD(09) + 00001803

Sometimes windows will start but the message returns if i start a game. Hope someone can help.

Try looking in your "device manager" you might have to update your video drivers.

check there see if you have anything there that is marked

with a little yellow icon.

if so open it and update the drivers.

also check your "msconfig." see what you have loading at startup.

you could have a program running there that is causing some sort of conflict.

if that does not help reboot in safe mode and run "scandisk" let it scan your system for errors or missing/corrupted files and try and repair them.

A VxD (Virtual Device Driver) is a special type of Windows driver that allows Windows to perform functions that run at the most privileged CPU mode and allow low-level interaction with the hardware and internal Windows functions

see if that helps.
