How to restore the short cuts on my desktop?

Hello my name is george .the problem is that the shortcuts on the desktop get taken off if I don't use them. There was a un-used shortcut folder short on the desktop but I deleted it.Now I need it and can't find it(FIRGURES).I tried search for it but to no avail. All I want to dois restore some of the shortcuts with out resotring the whole system or constantly making new desktop short cuts.

On the Desktop, double-click the Unused Desktop Shortcuts folder The Unused Desktop Shortcuts dialog box isdisplayed.

Note: If the Unused Desktop Shortcuts dialog box is maximized, click the Restore Down button (appearsto the left of the red Close button).

Drag the shortcut that you want to the Windows desktop

Close the Unused Desktop Shortcuts dialog box
