When I boot up my other computer, as soon as I click on anything a "Windows Installer" box comes up and when I try to close it, it freezes my computer. This happens in the normal or safe mode.

Well, it looks like the system is up-to-date which is excellent With regard to the Windows installer error, my guess is that the installer is slightly misconfigured Here's a couple of things to try.

1 From the Files directory on the CD, double-click vl_setup.msi Same error?

2 If that doesn't work, click Start - Run and enter the following line in the box:

msiexec /i d:\files\vl_setup.msi

where "d" is the drive letter of your CD, and the VL 4 setup CD is in the drive.

Any better?

If the install completes, but VL starts up with a message about not being properly installed, get back to me.
