Hello. The last time I was able to use my computer is when I dialed into the internet. It froze up. I had to reboot. It started to automatically do a scan. The scan gave me a message that said there is a file with a very long name that it didnt recognize. It froze up on the scan. Now, when I turn it on, there is just a black screen with a blinking cursor on the left top. Could this be a virus or hard drive failure? Is there any way I can get to the windows startup screen, by using any commands?

Thank you for your time on this. I really appreciate it.

I get the same virus when I go to certain lyrics sites also, some sort of trojan, but as soon as it happens my Avast! 4 home edition program picks it up and I just move it to the the virus chest and no more problems I use WinPatrol also and they both work great as a team An alternate browser does not fix the IE problem But the Spybot S&D is a good suggestion to get rid of the spyware.

Make sure to up-date it before using it.

1-Check for problems

2-Fix Problems

3-Immunize
