Umm my C partition is 20GB. When I get the properties on it it says 17GB used and 3GB free. But if I go to the drive, select all files and folders (including hidden), it's only 13GB and not 17GB......

why is this happening? is it because I may have too many files on my computer? can this wasted space be recovered any how?

Double click on "my computer", then click once on the "c:drive" folder look at the bottom left in the details area, this is the amount of disk you have used

clicking on all the folders in the c:drive including the hidden ones, doesn't really tell you how much space you have on your disk
