To update or change a device driver Open Device Manager

1 Double-click the type of device you want to update or change

2 Right-click the specific device driver you want to update and then click Update Driver to open the Hardware Update Wizard Follow the wizard instructions

Note: To open Device Manager, click Start, and then click Control Panel Double-click System On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager

You must be logged on as an administrator or a member of the Administrators group in order to complete this procedure If your computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may also prevent you from completing this procedure

When you are upgrading a driver or installing new hardware, Windows Update is automatically started This allows you to search for the driver to download and install Your computer must have access to the Internet to start Windows Update

If you are not an administrator or a member of the Administrators group, you can use Run as to perform certain administrator functions
