Extensive problems with Microsoft Internet Explorer. The browser will not open windows. In looking for information, it will not give me anything but a blank page. Then it says "invalid syntex error". I am in an internet course at the college, self pace with Microsoft Word 2003 and neet Internet Explorer and its a mess. What do I need to do? This just started maybe 2 months ago. Thank you. Penelope

Internet Explorer Errors Close All Open Internet Explorer Windows

SYMPTOMS

When you are browsing Web pages with several Microsoft Internet Explorer windows open that were started from within the original browser window, all Internet Explorer windows are closed if an error that causes Iexplore.exe to quit occurs

CAUSE

Opening a Web page by pointing to New on the File menu and then clicking Window, or by right-clicking a link and then clicking "Open Link in New Window," does not open a window in a separate Iexplore.exe process, but instead as a child thread of the original Iexplore.exe process When the main process (the original Internet Explorer window) quits, it closes all of the child threads

RESOLUTION

To start a new Internet Explorer process, use the Internet Explorer icon on the Quick Launch toolbar or the desktop
