How do I wipe the hard drive that has NTFS?

You can do one of two things.
If you want to wipe the heard drive completely then I recommend that you download a program called Kill disk.
There is an evaluation version that you can use for free.
It runs from the A drive You use the download to create a bootable floppy Then re boot your computer with the disk in the drive Follow the simple steps and you will wipe out the drive.
The second way is to run the install for the new windows or Linux disk For either there is a point where it asks whether you want to install on a specific partition, over write the existing installation, or use fdisk to create a partition You should choose the easiest option is to over write However I would choose fdisk and delete the partition So now you have a blank disk However there are some people who could still read the data So you should FORMAT the drive.
