Can't clear your history?

In the past I have been able to delete web sites visited by 'clearing history' on my internet options tab....but recently, when I do this, and I revisit the Internet, the address drop-down box retains past sites.

How can I clear this out?

This problem may occur if another process has the history locked when you click Clear History

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem: 1 Quit all running programs

2 In Control Panel, double-click Internet Options

3 On the General tab, click Clear History

4 Click Yes, and then click OK

5 Restart Internet Explorer

6 If the problem persists, restart your computer in Safe mode, and then repeat steps 1 through 5
