How can I fix the problem of every time I try to open anything, whether it's an attachment on e-mail or something downloadable from a web site, or even a CD-ROM, I keep getting the message "Access to the specified device, path or file denied?"

When you attempt to install Microsoft Office Personal Portfolio, you may receive the following error message:

Access to the specified device, path, or file is denied

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if your computer has insufficient available random access memory (RAM)

RESOLUTION

It is recommended that you have at least 32 MB of RAM to install Microsoft Office Personal Portfolio

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article
