I don't know the brand of my computer. I get an error message-need start up disk. I tried a start up disk from another computer. It did not work. What should I do?

Firstable, you need to know what windows version you have, if it's 98, Me, or XP Just go to My Computer, right click my computer icon, then go to Properties in the bottom of the list, and after you get Properties, choose the tab name Settings, and look for "Create Start up Disk".

Insert a new floppy disk in the floppy drive and then proceed to create the start up disk.
