Hi, I have an HP Laptop with a builtin 802.11b wireless card built in. No where on the laptop does it tell me what the NIC address is. How do I look up the NIC address in Windows XP?

Well a wireless connection has to look for a network to boot into Once it finds one it asks for an IP address Then you will get the connection

So unless you’re only going to use your home wireless connection it should be set to dynamic.

Here’s how to do it if you just want to see what the current IP address is Click start / run type CMD a command line interface pops up Type ipconfig, and hit enter Your IP address will appear Type exit and hit enter to close the window
