MS Word: I click the toolbar button and open a window with a new Word doc. When I click the button again instead of opening a new window and doc, I get a 'corrupted' window/doc with no toolbars (not my custom ones or even the standards). I have a pop-up that says "Word cannot open the existing '(square box symbol)'. Then when I try to close the window/doc, I'm told I've modified 'normal.dot'. It wants me to save. I can cancel and get out, but then I get a message that I've modified "Global Template". I can eventually get out.

This is new. Why, and how do I fix it?

O.K Whether your office install is corrupted or its something more serious you should simply do a repair on yore office instillation.

Here is what you have to do.

Get your office disk and put it in Go on as if you where installing it But read every page One of them will ask whether you wish to install or repair the current instillation Just select repair and continue You may need the product key.
