I just use my computer for correspondence & information.

It has been rebuilt & probably has none of the original parts anymore. It was running good, but now is getting very sluggish. It still connects at the same speed. I keep getting kicked off line, but after reading other Q's I believe that is from a long phone line {which can not be shortened - I live with my parents & it's the only way}I'm usually kicked off while on Yahoo Messenger, Incredimail, or Wnmix.

Anyway, the slow, slow speed is starting to get really annoying. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If your computer is running extremely slow, it might be caused by some program running in the background of your system If this is the reason, you have to take the decision to remove some of those programs Programs like zonealarm, fire walls, anti-viruses, accelerators, etc, might be causing your computer to work slow This background programs consume much of your computer's RAM capability.

Also, you can improve your computer's memory capability by adding more RAM to your system.
