How to get my system to power up?

I turn my computer on. then it shuts down after 3 minutes. and some times it wont come on at all. If i let it sit for a while it will come on and work for hours. then it does it again. Just wonder what i can do. thanks

Well, it could be hardware, software, or heat related.

The first (simple) thing to do is check your fans and ventilation openings for dust etc buildup (After you ensure that the fans are indeed running.)

Also check all your connections to ensure things are tightly seated (Power OFF while doing this step.)

It seem like your system is to powerful for your PSU Try swaping it with a hight wattage PSU and see if that solves your problem.
