Does turning off the computer cause hot electrical components or soldiering to cool down causing damage or cracks to electrical components?

This question was answered on March 27, 2005. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.

Turning off the computer does cause electrical parts to cool down but soldered components will not pose a problem unless they were improperly installed or defective While running the components are cooled by the internal fans and heat sinks.
