I want to upgrade my 5 year old AMD processor on my Compac Presario....feesable???

This question was answered on July 12, 2005. Much of the information contained herein may have changed since posting.


First you need to find what type of socket your AMD processor fits into, such Socket 5, Socket 7, Socket A and so on.. This can be found on the motherboard, usually right below the processor Once you've determined the type of socket required, you can search for processors that will fit that socket If your computer is 5 years old, you will probably be able to upgrade to about a 600-650MHz processor
