When i usually switch on my pc, it beeps (high pitched) once, then the monitor switches on.

Now, when i switch it on, i get 1 long beep then 2 shorter ones (same high pitch) follwed by 2 low pitched beeps, and the monitor stays on standby. the hard drive is still active from what i can tell from the lights on the front.

please help!

1 long and 2 short beeps usually means that there is something wrong with your video card The card should be removed then replaced so that it is properly seated in it's slot If you still get the same sequence of beeps, try replacing the video card with a working one
