What do lines across my screen mean?

My screen flickers and gets lines across it from time to time. It will almost totally go white, when I use the mouse most of the time it will go back to a regular screen. It happens after I have been on it for a while. Is there anything that I can do to fix this problem? I am not sure all the system information is right as I am somewhat computer illiterate. Please help if you can.

I believe you are experiencing lines across your screen from time to time that may be interference from a cell phone I have experienced this as well When I move the cell phone away from the computer then the screen returns to normal
