I have several games installed on my PC. Some were downloaded from the net, and some installed via disc. One of myproblems is, when playing most games, my pc will go into sleep mode after playing the games for a short time. My other problem is, some of the games simple won't load when I attempt to play them. I have been trying to find an answer to these problems for a long time with no luck. Any help will be appreciated.

If you play certain games with microsoft service pack one installed you may expierence the following problems:

The game may stop responding (hang)

• The game may quit unexpectedly (crash) when the introductory video clip starts

• You may receive an error message that is similar to one of the following error messages:

Video not available - cannot find 'VIDS:IV50' decompressor

Failed (hr=0x80004002) in pVW-> put_Owner((OAHWND)HWnd)

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if the following conditions are true: • The game that you want to play contains video that is compressed with the Indeo video codec

• The Indeo codec is not installed on the computer

The Indeo codec is not included in Windows XP Home Edition SP1.

To resolve this problem visit microsoft.com and install a recommended update from microsoft.
