Why doesn't my monitor work?

On my son's computer, the power comes on, but nothing on the monitor-just the box that says the monitor is working and to check the cable (which are fine). Have I accidentally unplugged a cable/wire from the motherboard? I don't see anything obvious.

First check the documentation that came with the monitor Then do a Diognostic Check of the BIOS Then follow the instructions or do a reinstall to reconfigure the OS and the Monitor.
