Connecting two computes together

Is there a way to connect my laptop hard drive to my desktop pc?

Do I have to make a custom cable to connect it up, or are there adaptors for this purpose?

I want to connect my laptop hard drive to my pc to try to diagnose and/or repair the laptop hard drive.

A crossover cable is a cable that has its wires reversed The wires that are reversed are the ones send and receive data You can find the cables at any computer store.
