sorry I don't know much about my laptop but it is brand new and it is a very good one as i got it through work so no probs on that.

However, I have probably got rather excitable and downloaded tons of stuff. and put lots of programs on it etc.

However it is still really slow i.e. like 5 mins to complete a function.

ive deleted all downloaded mp3 files and programs i do not use and no better. I've cleared all my temp internet files. I think i need to know how to stop all the programs running but i don't actually know how as i have poss run out of ram. how do i carry out this process???

I would try a couple of things Fisrt I would perform a Defrag on your hard drive Then to stop some unwanted processes from running in the background you can do the following, but only do this if you are comfortable with identifiying what unnecessary processes are running vs what ones are required Go to Start then select run In the run box type msconfig and hit enter In the window that comes up select the start up tab This will have a list of all prgrams and processes that start up upon boot and stay running Deselect the ones you want to stop then OK and close out window You will then have to restart your computer for changes to take affect.
