How do I clear everything out of my computer?

im trying to clear everything of my computer to reload it so im going to the run program typing in format c: then yes then enter then it comes up format can not run because volume is in use by another format so i type y to try force close and it all just disapears

What you have done in Format is to wipe out all the information on the drive Instead of going into Format you should have backed up all your files before going into Format Next you need to reinstall your startup disk then you then you will be able to copy your backup disk if you made one Reinstall your back up disk t put it all back in to run your program.
