When do I need a firewall?

I have a DSL internet connection, Do I need a firewall on my computer

Firewall is very important when you have an always connected internet like DSL.

Firewalls protect you from hackers who search for unprotected computers Hackers can access your computer inserting spam, spywire, and viruses Not to mention steal any personal information as well.

I would suggest Norton or McAfee as a good internet security software.
