it seems whenever I go to log out of my computer it takes forever for it to shut down. I've even taken off some of the programs to "lighten" the load.

Thanks

Shutdown problems usually are caused by hardware problems, not software Try upgrading your motherboard ROM to the latest version There may be bugs in the Windows as well Update to the latest version of Windows XP at windowsupdate.com If you should also check your Device Manager to insure all your hardware is working correctly To access Device Manager click Start/Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager.

If your still having problems try Microsoft Knowledgebase (support.microsoft.com) and searching for 'shutdown problems Windows XP'.
