Norton 2005 said to disable firewall in SP2. Should I do this?

Yes, the firewall needs to be disabled It can interfere with Norton Internet Security You need to turn it off before you install Norton Internet Security However, if you have already installed Norton Internet Security, the list below shows the steps needed to disable the windows XP firewall.

To turn off the Widows XP firewall--

1 On the XP taskbar, click Start > Control Panel.

2 In the Control Panel window, do one of the following:

• In the default Category View, click Network and Internet Connections, and then click Network Connections.

• In the Classics View, double-click Network Connections

3 Right-click the active connection icon, and then click Properties

4.In the Properties window, on the Advanced tab, uncheck Protect my computer and network by limiting or preventing access to this computer from the Internet.

5.Click OK.
