I suspect a virus of some kind. Upon bootup, a window pops up saying that dsonic.exe has encoiuntered an error and needs to close. this is followed by another claiming the same thing except it is from jspot.exe. Nothing will work in the the mouse moves around but will not do anything when clicking on a desktop item or from the start bar. i suspect my AV program may not have been up to date and i can not open it to run an update or a system scan even.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Earl

Dsonic.exe is Trojan/Backdoor virus that is a bad one I did a lot of research on this on the web and came up with the following options that others have tried with success.

First do a reboot when computer is booting up hold down F8 key this will bring up a screen with an option to start with last known good configuration try thsi first.

The site I went is - http://www.computing.net/windowsxp/wwwboard/forum/144128.html this site has a couple of links to different options that others have tried.

You may also if none of the options above work have to do a system restore with our windows xp install CD.
