When ever I use my USB port on front of computer to download pictures from my digital camera I get this message--This device can perform faster if connected to a Hi-speed USB 2.0 port,the pictures download very fast in as it is.I just bought a new Epson printer Epson Stylus CX4800 when I was connecting it I got the same message when I connected it to the USB ports in the back of the tower.It to seems to perform very well and fast enough.Can you tell me what kind of Hi spped port they are talking about and do I need it?Thankyou!

If it is working for you fine, there is no need to change anything You computer is not recognizing your usb 2.0 drive if you have it installed, but you may not:

Make sure you have updated critical updates from microsoft.com in windows xp.

Look in device manager to see what version of usb port your computer has

control panels

Performance and maintenance

Administrative tools

computer management

device management

If you have usb 2.0, click on the device in device management and update it.

If you have an usb 1.1 card, then you simply do not have the USB 2.0 installed in your computer.
