Hi,

I would like to exit the PC rat race and begin using Apple laptops. Is that a good idea in general? Also, which is the best apple laptop for the money? The powerbook seems favorable over the ibook because of increased screen resolution, among other reasons. But I have heard that the 15" powerbook is associated with horizontal lines across the screen. Any thoughts? I am the average student that might do some ameteur video and photo stuff.

One thing to remember when changing to a Mac is software compatibility If you are sure that the software that you use already has an equivalent in Mac software then if you wish to switch go ahead and do so Mac's definately do have an edge when it comes to video and sound, but if you are just going to dabble in it, having to buy a new machine and probably all new software might not be worth the investment Best for money is unfortunately hard to say, as how much you are willing to spend is probably the only limiter.
