My computer is old and has only 4 GB Hard drive. I have a P and Play external hard drive with 120 GB storage. I try to put everything I can on the external drive. What should always go on C drive?. I only have 400 MB left on C. I have AOL, printer, antivirus on C. What can be put safely on my external hard drive (D)?

The only thing that you need to keep on the C drive is the operating system itself You can move anything else to the external drive To move applications that are already installed, you will need to first uninstall them and then install them on the external drive Just follow these steps:

Click the START button

Click CONTROL PANEL

Click ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS.

Here you will be able to uninstall any program you wish to move Once you have uninstalled it you can then install it to your D: drive Simply change the installation directory from C: to D: whenyou are asked where you would like the program to be installed You will need to pay attention during installation as this option is given in different ways You may need to choose to do a "Custom" installation in order to change the installation directory.

Back up all data before uninstalling.
