Why did Internet Explorer disappear?

I recently installed Mozilla Firefox browser and my internet explorer has vanished . I tried an internal search and come up empty . I have als tried to download Internet explorer from Microsoft and got the message that IE already exists . How can retrieve IE and have an Icon on my desktop ?

Internet Explorer didnt really vanish, what happened is when you installed firefox, firefox became your default browser, and internet explorer just disappeared into the background You should be able to just browse to C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer and you will find it there To create a icon for your desktp, right click IEXPLORER.EXE and go to send to and then select Desktop( create shortcut )
