Why won't Windows boot up?

My mother is having problems with her computer. I doesn't want to startup. You can turn it on and it starts working but it stops when it gets to the Windows Me screen. Any suggestions?

This sounds like a possible corruption with your boot files If you have the Windows install cd, you can insert that into the computer and reboot to force the computer to accept the Windows CD You should be able to repair files from the Windows CD Also, if the computer is giving you an error message, put the error message into a google search on another computer Somtimes that will give you the necessary information needed to fix the problem
