I want to buy a router to provide additional protection to

my computer, per your suggestion. I am planning on buying a wired router because I have no apparent need for a wireless router. I am not on a network and all my

hardware is nearby so I am not concerned about the

extra wiring. Are there any drawbacks to a wired router?

Any reason I should buy a wireless rather than a wired

router (which are hard to find). If I buy a wired router,

what are the basic features I should look for?

Thanks!

I would recommend a wired router actually in your case because it operates at a faster speed, higher security (People cannot access your router/Computer network unless they are hooked up literally to your router), and less troubleshooting needed if any problems occur I would like to recommend a product from D-Link or Linksys because they are two very stable products and can be set up to operate securely and efficiently.
