Can I play WAV files from my internal speaker?

Is there a way to play wave files on a pc that just has a internal factory speaker without a sound card.I know you can do it with win3.1 all it takes is a different windows driver can i do the same thing with win95

Wav files require a sound card with the ability to process the audio encoded within them.
