What is the proper wallpaper setting?

I set my screen saver and wallpaper, and later on my wallpaper dissapears and when I check properties it say's

I have picked none for screen saver or wallpaper.

The possible reason that your properties that says you did not select a wallpaper and screen saver is because you only clicked the ok button, but you have select your wallpaper and screen saver and then click the apply button so the system will save your selection.
