How do I delete permanently old email?

How do you delete old e-mail from the hard drive. Even after I use the delete function the mail reappears again and again.

Often users delete files of various sorts and believe that they are gone, but that is not the case! Most email programs retain these trashed email items in a folder called roughly, deleted items To find this folder go to start/find/then enter *delete*, this should bring maybe a few deleted items folders First and foremost double click on each folder checking the contents, once you ARE SURE that this is the folder you want deleted drag it to the recycle bin and empty the trash
